    Supersite

    Bandwidth Limit Exceeded

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later.

The site seems to be down at the moment, for the reason above.

    Hope it is back soon!

    Re: Supersite

I'm just surmising here, but presumably the cause of this is the recent TG nonsense and all the site activity associated with it. If the monthly bandwidth has been exceeded, perhaps the site won't be back up until the new billing month starts (whenever that may be) or more money is paid to whoever hosts the site.

I miss the place too and hope it won't be January before it's accessible again!

Yes, it must be something like that.

I guess we just wait and see.

I think it would be a good idea and also courteous, for this site to have a advert/linky thing set up to the Supersite. Can admin do that???

    I agree.

The link from there to here seemed to disappear a week or two ago.

    Re: Supersite

It will do this site good if the supersite is down for a while. After the initial few posts there has been no action here - everyone just uses the supersite forum. If that is the way things continue this site will never take off.

All the posts today are because the other site is down!!!!

    Re: Supersite

Yes, that is true, but this site is so slow....everything takes an age to load.

Sometimes it just hangs and does nothing.

    Re: Supersite

We need to consider exactly what we want from this site, as opposed to the old one. I have previously said that a club site was something that I wanted. Part of any club site would be an area for club members to discuss club matters. For me, that's the only purpose of this new forum arrangement. I cannot see why the existing forum cannot be used for other matters, including general chat, events, technical stuff, for sale and wanted. Indeed if it is no longer used, the wealth of information may be lost - if nobody uses it there's no reason for Dave to contuinue to pay for it.

Now I know that our opinions will differ on what takes place here but for my part, the restriction of technical info to members of the club is something I cannot support so I will continue to go to the other site for that.

Haven't fully formed a clear standpoint on all this yet.

The slowness of the site doesn't help either!

    Re: Supersite

    John,

I will set up a link to the SSS as soon as it comes back on line. I have dropped a note to Dave Watson making him aware the site is down. This will be added to the Links webpage on the SEC site.

However, it is interesting to note that the the links to the SEC website attached to the SEC logos on the SSS Forum were recently removed, so will be asking Dave to either re-establish the links on the Logos or remove the Logos to ensure non SEC Stratos Enthusiasts understand that the SSS forum is not the SEC Forum or a safe and secure site for SEC Members.

Apologies if this sounds a bit "formal" but I believe it is important that we set up a collaborative (but consistent and fair) links with all other car clubs and websites that we are hostorically linked to, or link up with in the future.

Would be interested in other views on this before we set any precedent.

     Regards,

                    Nico/

    Re: Supersite

All makes sense. I would think the linky would be re-established once there was one working from here in the opposite directionWink
